It is stretched over a time period of about a month . well , yes India is a place where festivals are celebrated all round the year BUT , dear god ! this time of the year , namely October and November has different forms of festivals without any interruption and each of these with a different story behind its celebration. NAVRATRI AND DURGA PUJA

It is a 10 Days and 9 nights long and fun festival, which is celebrated to signify Goddess Durga's victory in a battle with a demon. As the name itself suggests "NAV"meaning "NINE" and "RATRI"meaning "NIGHTS" NINE NIGHTS .Without going into the depth of this mesmerizing tale. I'll tell you people that its enjoyed with a lot of rituals and Garba & Dandiya(forms of a traditional dance) . There are several books filled with the historic tales of the reasons of the battle and the battle itself and obviously then the rituals of celebration of the victory. So now lets get into the fashion aspect of the festival.

NAVRATRI AND FASHION

Festival draws together a set traditional functions which allows us to connect and make our bond stronger with our roots. All the traditional clothing is so much fun style. Big jewelries , flowy clothes, beautiful scarfs/bandanas/dupattas. It gives us that time and opportunity to do that extra in fashion which we cannot do much often. All the bold makeup , heavy jewelry , brights colors and a lot of stamina to enjoy so much.

As I mention above Garba and Dandiya dance forms. It carries its own specific design and style of clothing . Garba initially started from the state of Gujarat in India , its performed with steps including lots of circular motions where as dandiya is similar but not identical , it is performed with colorful sticks in hand and it signifies the sword which the goddess used. So the costume for it is basically LEHENGA

it is a floor length skirt with obviously gujarati special work done and mostly paired with a cropped blouse and a embroidered dupatta/scarf. But now we have all various types of fusion style , mixed with variety of pants , skirts and even shorts.

That is an example of what a lehenga is and dandiya sticks. Well, if you see the first image in the parallel gallery , that my dear is a proper traditional Gujarati lehenga . Its is paired with a contrasting blouse and a embroidered duppatta as I mentioned in the basics.

Beside that you can see a pair of dandiya sticks.

Where as in the other image I have displayed a simple form of lehenga which has been into trend lately.

But these aren't all. There ca be millions of ways to create a Navratri look once you know the basics. so that was all about the basic knowledge about Navratri.

Now lets get started with the look book.

LOOK BOOK

Okay, Now I'll start by showing 3 WAYS TO PAIR ONE CROP TOP IN NAVRATRI STYLE :

have look at the top

An orange crop top with medium sized golden polka dots.

It has got the brightness and the beauty and the pop of color that the season needs.

I picked this one personally from the pantaloons store but I am adding an online link if you guys wanna get your hands on it too.

1st LOOK :

Yeah that is the first look an orange feast.

CLOTHING

Here I've matched the top with the bright orange skirt which has golden wire embroidery at the bottom circumference.

ACCESSORIES

Over a bright monochrome , too many accessories is a disaster. I've just added a choker and and little cute maroon Bindi.

2nd LOOK :

On to the second look. yes the contrasting queen.

CLOTHING

In this one I have pulled the look together with a Golden skirt and a gujarati dupatta .

ACCESSORIES

The dupatta does it all but I have added a pair of circular earrings . Yes I know it is not quiet visible here but check it out in the image where I introduced you the top firstly.

3rd LOOK :

And finally the third look The fusion freak.

CLOTHING

In this look the top is paired with a balloon pant which has a fitted gujarati bottom circumference.

ACCESSORIES

A vibrant string pouch and a pair of circular chained earrings . The look is concluded with black round toe pumps .
